Tabeo e2 Childrens Tablet
Toys R Us has just unveiled their second generation Tabeo e2 tablet, letting iPad owners and parents breathe a sigh of relief younger household members now have one of their own to play. The Tabeo e2 kids tablet is an effort by Toys R Us to capture a piece of the growing tablet market for children.
The 8-inch tablet for kids features a multi-touch display with 1024×768 resolution, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage (expandable by SDcard). The tablet/slate operates on Google’s platform of Android 4.2, the Tabeo e2 has a children’s app store with thousands of free apps, and has dozens of pre-installed educational apps primarily for 6 to 11 year-olds. Naturally, there are also plenty of parental controls to keep things locked down.
Toys R Us’ 8-inch second-generation Tabeo kids tablet comes pre-loaded with 30 kids apps. Games include Need for Speed™ Most Wanted, Bejeweled® 2, The Game of Life™, Temple Run 2 and Fruit Ninja. In addition, kids can transform tabeo e2 into a full karaoke experience with tabeoke from The Singing Machine®.
Although it is targeted for sale to the pre-teen and early teen markets, the Android Tabeo e2 kids tablet has a list of features found on all mainstream adult tablets. Features such as a 8-inch multi-touch screen, a dual facing cameras, five hour battery life, and Wi-Fi access are all listed as standard on the kid safe slate. The second generation Tabeo comes with 8GB of storage, and has a memory card slot supporting up to 64 GB cards.
Tabeo e2 will be available in a blue, pink or clear protective case to shield the tablet when dropped from low heights or when bumped into other objects. Toys “R” Us will launch the tablet in stores across the country and online beginning in October at a sales price of $149.99.
Tabeo e2 accessories include DJ headphones, iHome docking station, tablet cases, car adapter and adjustable headset.
