It’s called the Camelio and it’s a nice size for small hands – 7 inches. The unique thing about it is that the computer can be changed to a variety of themes whenever a child gets older or their interests change. Among the licensed themes are Hello Kitty, Hot Wheels, Barbie, Monster High, My Little Pony and Thomas the Train. The theme packs come with such features as wallpaper, widgets, books, music and videos featuring the particular theme.

Design features have been well thought out. The kids tablets have round corners and the backing is easily gripped by even the youngest child. It uses the Android 4.1 including automatic upgrades and 25 already installed games and activities. With parental as a part of the system, parents can be assured of safety for their children. If parents need to use the computer, removal of the theme applications is simple. They are well-built and can tolerate some rough treatment. Cameras, in the front and back, are also included which will delight the kids.

This product and all its theme packets will be available in retail stores and online sometime in the summer of 2013. The choice of popular child themes will make the Camelio tablet computer a device that will bring many fun activities, as well as an enjoyable educational experience. The Nintendo Wii was a groundbreaking piece of gaming innovation, enjoying widespread success after its release in 2006 and still managing to move 300,000 units during the week of Thanksgiving in 2012. With its myriad of controller options and variety of family-friendly, physical titles, the Wii was hailed as the future of home console gaming. Its successor, the Wii U, was released in November 2012 to mostly positive reviews. After less than a month on the shelves, however, rumors have surfaced that a redesign of the original Wii, dubbed the “Wii Mini”, will join the Wii U on at least one major retailer’s shelves on December 7, 2012. Nintendo has made no comment.

The compact Nintendo Wii console would theoretically be available just in time for Christmas 2012 in the US, and will probably be a more affordable option for Nintendo enthusiasts who need their franchise fix but aren’t quite ready to upgrade to the pricey Wii U. Wii Mini’s starter package would include the console, Wii Remote Plus, sensor bar, and nunchuck controller. While no new Wii titles are planned to release alongside this compact version of the heavyweight console contender, but the red and black Wii Mini still looks to be a great replacement for early-adopter Wii fans whose consoles have seen better days, or an affordable introduction to motion-sensor gaming for those who have not yet entered the genre.

On a side note, the Wii Fit U is coming in the first half of 2013!

Toys R Us has just unveiled their kid-friendly tablet, letting iPad owners and parents breathe a sigh of relief younger household members now have one of their own to play. The Tabeo kids tablet is an effort by Toys R Us to capture a piece of the growing tablet market for children. The tablet/slate operates on Google’s Android 4.0 operating system, popularly known as the “Ice Cream Sandwich.”

Tabeo comes pre-loaded with over 50 kids apps, including Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, as well as over 6,000 free educational games, programs,and books available in the Tabeo store. The Tabeo also promises strong battery life; 10 hours for Internet use, 6-7 for video content.

Although it is targeted for sale to the pre-teen and early teen markets, the Android Tabeo PC has a list of features found on all mainstream adult tablets. Features such as a 7-inch multi-touch screen, a front-facing camera, a Lithium Polymer battery capable of delivering 10 hours of usage, and Wi-Fi access are all listed as standard on the kid safe slate. While the child’s tablet only comes with 4GB of storage, there is availability to expand the memory an additional 32GB.

The Tabeo tablet for kids is expected to compete with Apple’s iPad Mini over the 2012 holidays.
